Village & Life have a dedicated call centre, providing a reservation service and a professional tourism resource. With over 14 consultants on call, 7 days a week, our department offers specialist advice on a variety of holiday and accommodation options. Marketing and Sales
The marketing and sales department is responsible for the marketing and sales on all the accommodation products and commercial ventures. Services include marketing plans, sales programs, brochure distribution, media campaigns, promotions and PR.
The department is headed by our Chairman, Maree Brink and assisted by Neilen Tolmay and Larry Leyden.

Trade Sales
The sales department sells and promotes all Village & Life accommodation products to the trade, including both international and local tour operators and travel agents. Frequent sales trips are conducted locally and to the UK. The sales office assists with information on all Village & Life products including rates, contracting, brochures, web requirements and providing up to date marketing material. The department attends and hosts popular local and international workshops, including the very popular SA trade show, Indaba. The trade is also serviced through a dedicated website.

Production, Branding and Design
Our creative team is focused on production, design, web design and content, logos, identities for new brands, photography, brochures, fliers, print ads and other through-the-line advertising. Our team consists of highly qualified individuals in the roles of designers, web designers, a copywriter and photographers. This team conceptualizes, creates and produces all the promotional material for Village & Life's products and creates all their websites. The team also meets the objectives of media planning, brand stewardship, constant development and updating of existing websites.

Web Sales
The web sales department enhances sales revenue through optimisation, search engine marketing, optimal web navigational structures, e-commerce, key word searches, content development and sponsored links. We can now analyze and understand consumer intelligence and behaviour by interpreting the data provided by online analyzing tools. For example, in layman’s terms, we can tell what pages on our websites the consumers are visiting the most and how we can therefore use that information to better ourselves. We believe our websites should be current, credible, well-structured and user-friendly, due to the tremendous growth of online bookings through search engine results.

Facilities Management
The Facilities Management Department was created in order to ensure that properties are immaculately maintained and enhanced on a continuous basis. The department also offers workplace solutions for maximum efficiency, obtaining guest feedback in order to develop detail specifications.
Services include project management, security, maintenance, landscaping & horticulture, resource management, environmental matters, waste management and transport logistics.
The department is headed by Frans Tredoux and assisted by Justin Exner.

Garden and horticultural services
The department service all properties through green injection and colour magic. We propagate our own plants and provide wood to all the villages.
The department is headed by our horticulturist, Sanet Boshoff and are assisted by the green team.

Laundry
Based at The Bay Hotel, the laundry is of service to the hotels and self catering establishments.
Linen and towels are washed in industrial sized machines, supplied by Electrolux. All liquids and detergents
used are environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
Guest laundry is carefully laundered and presented on return to guests.
The department is headed by Dilshaad Sayed and assisted by Arnold Smart and supervisor, Anne Poni.

Group Stores
The following stores are operated in order to service our hotels and self catering establishments:
The Standard Store is based at The Bay Hotel and sources and supplies guest amenities and specialised
hotel products to our hotels and villages. Products include items such as guest services files, anti theft
hangars, luggage racks, built in hairdryers, remote boxes, gratuity jars, linen, towels, crockery and cutlery.
The Hardware Store is based at The Bay Hotel and contains items such as plumbing parts, electrical,
building supplies and maintenance consumables.
The Equipment Store is based at Camps Bay Resort and supplies items such as chain saws, heavy duty
breakers, generators and audio equipment.
The Building Store is based at Camps Bay Resort and supplies building equipment such as basins, doors,
toilets and scaffolding. We endeavour to recycle as much material as possible.
The White Store is based at Totness Court and houses items such as fridges, microwaves, ovens, washing
machines and tumble driers.
The Chair Store is also based at Totness Court. Our challenge is to restore and upholster all old chairs to
as ‘good as new’.
The Furniture Store is based in Sedgemoor Road. All furniture which is replaced by new items is
restored and freshly upholstered and kept in store for future interiors.
The Treasure Store is based at Camps Bay Retreat and houses items such as lamps, lampshades, pictures, mirrors, scatter cushions and other smalls.
The Workshop is based at Camps Bay Resort. Most broken furniture and equipment is sent to the workshop for repairs, refurbishment and upholstery.

Skills Development & Training
Village and Life has the vision to enhance the skills within their organization by empowering the employees with functional tools to enhance their personal development. The aim is to train, educate and develop all employees to improve their skills and knowledge to become more cost effective for the company, whilst we enhance their personal wellbeing. Its gives us great pleasure to share our excitement as we’ve moved into our first skills development programme with our Life Journey Program, which commenced in January 2009, running for 4 months, teaching and developing unemployed individuals gardening skills as well as life skills. Village and Life is committed to enriching lives through training and development, uplifting and building stronger workforces through the Life Journey Program.

Information Technology
The Information Technology Department serves other group departments through a series of services that includes integrating computer systems, co-ordinating, negotiating and managing information technology related contracts, technology assistance and support. The department creates the technological environment that enables employees to quickly access vital information using the most efficient and cost effective system hardware and software. The department assists group departments in responding to the company needs, by supplying a binding of different technologies which are vital for the day to day internal operations.

Investments
The investments department is responsible for the sourcing and evaluation of property and hospitality investments which will also include feasibility studies on the proposed investments.
Advice and implementation of the optimal ownership structure taking into account the finance requirements and tax implications of every investment.
The department is responsible for the raising of finances for individual investments.

Security
The security department looks after all security guards and ensures a safe stay to all guests in an around Camps Bay. The department also advises on risk management, health and safety. A control centre has been set up at The Bay Hotel, providing a 24 hour monitoring service.
